Spied this little guy, the second I’ve ever seen I reckon. Saw a GT-R too but this is infinitely more interesting. Audi really tried to properly reinvent the small car, and succeeded whether the world was ready for it or not.

I’ve not seen one of these for years.

I know many if not most people don’t look under the bonnet but an inspection panel on the front seemed a little ‘no, not for you, you can’t look inside here so go about your duties’.

Though if needed you can remove the bonnet by opening the front hatch and twisting to knobs (one next to each headlight) and remove (though I’d be scared of putting the bonnet down somewhere where someone could damage it), but still more than pulling a handle and lifting the bonnet up on it’s hinges.

I see them relatively often for cars of their age. What’s more I think they go for quite high prices considering.

These are really neat cars, and came from Audi at the same time as the D2 A8 in a lot of ways.

All Aluminum

Built to haul four adults in a minimum of space but maximum of luxury.

They still go for 6,000 Euros around here (Belgium) and can be seen frequently enough.

Looks like a TT hatchback. I kinda like it.

It’s a lot more advanced than it looks, if you’re not aware ;)

And the efficiency! Such efficiency! Something like 0.000001L/10000km!

Right you are , and for 21k! Jesus.

That’s a damn lie. I’ve seen 2, I very much doubt there are but 4 in the country. I once saw an Escalade and had the owner tell me it was the only one in the country. I’ve seen several others.

People like to toot their own horn.

There’s one for sale in Australia and it’s hideously expensive. Crazy!

IIRC people were aghast that they couldn’t open the bonnet and thought control was being taken away from them. Hurt the car’s image. I think Audi was just trying to isolate the regular servicy stuff from the rest of it, not a terrible idea in itself.

Ye’, people get there noses out of joint when told they can’t do something they don’t do but always had to option to do.

People are stupid, you can’t cure it, so don’t worry about it. Lol.

A2 was never sold officially in Australia. so it could be possible that there’s only 4.

It’s certainly possible. But I don’t believe that there are 4 and I’ve seen half of them just in Victoria. And how would the owner know that number for certain?

To me, it feels like some random guess that was made, that the owner took as fact and likes to throw around as a bragging point.

Yes, that’s dear. Rarity will do that for you, sometimes.

If I had to guess, I’d say he’ll lower it by at least 5k before it sells. Oftentimes, cars are rare because they’re not popular. Rarity on its own doesn’t always mean you can demand a huge price.
